12 quilts in a day for Caring Pregnancy Center-plus two more and booties and hats too.

Saturday we had our quilting day to make quilts for the caring pregancy center. We had 19 signed up at one point but with cancelations ended up with 12 plus Teresa and I teaching. This was a good thing because we were kept pretty busy. Things went pretty well although we had to be creative and flexible when things went wrong but we ended up with some beautiful quilts. We all made mistakes and will learn from them which is what life is all about anyway. Despite broken machines, sewing wrong pieces together, accidently cutting through the backing, leaving pins in the inside of the quilt and not having enough fabric provided, running out of thread, having the top bigger than the backing because of words on the edge of the fabric we learned there is a solution to every problem! We pressed through when discouraged, gave up the idea of perfection, helped each other out, got inspired to make another project at home and felt tired and proud when we were finished. I think it was a sucess!

Laura has also made 22 crocheted baby bonnets and both Teresa and Laura together made 22 booties to give with the blankets. Enjoy the pictures below.
