My favorite sampler quilt
I was going to use this type of sashing and borders for my tree quilt but may change my mind.

One of the more realistic landscape quilts.

I think we need on of these for the parade to go with the Chia car.

This morning we drove from Albany to Sisters for the quilt show. These are a few of our favorite quilts. Chris liked the style above. There were several in various colors. I'm not sure which was his favorite color but this was my favorite of this style.
I have been wanting to do a tree quilt and thus liked this one. I may try a variation of this one. This was hanging in the pizza parlor we had lunch in. Otherwise we would have missed it.

This one is made entirely of wedding dresses

Friday Chris and I headed down to the Oregon Gardens on our way to Sisters. We spent the night in Albany to shorten the 4 hour trek to Sister's Quilt show.Below is one of the plants Chris would like to add to our garden at home. It is a hosta.

On Wednesday we tried to redeem some of our vacation and ended up at the beach. We had lunch at Pier 11 in Astoria and then played minature golf and looked at shops in Seaside. We walked out on the beach but it was too windy to stay for long.

Teresa made these cupcakes for the 4th of July celebration. We had 12 for dinner on Friday night and 15 for on Saturday afternoon. We enjoyed the parade and boat races and the warm weather with no rain on our blankets.

Camping

After the 4th of July Celebration we headed out camping. (*Note to self: Don't plan a camping trip on the same weekend as the 4th of July.)
We visited La Push beach outside of Forks. The dogs below decided Tonia was a likely person to play throw the rock with them. The big black one brought her a large rock and dropped it at her feet. She took the hint and tossed it for them several times.

We enjoyed two hikes in the Hoh Rain Forest. We enjoyed lots of moss and big trees along the way.

We saw some of the sites in Forks and ate lunch there. We picked up a very large tarp to help keep the persistent rain out of our tent.
