After the first morning Jonathan insisted everyone clean their own fish, especially Susie since she was his main competition for the money in the fishing derby.

There was a covered deck on the front and back of the boat that had room enough for all of us if we scrunched together.

Chris did a good job as riverboat captain.

We spent the last afternoon and night at the base of this waterfall. Chris, Tonia and Laura hiked over boulders to the base of the waterfall. We had a rude awakening at 4:30 AM when Chris discovered one of the tie off ropes had come off and the wind was pushing us sideways. We had to scramble to get the other rope off the boulder (which by that time was wedged securely). So we headed out into open water extremely early but enjoyed a beautiful sunrise.

Tonia did pretty well on the houseboat despite being pregnant. Here she is enjoying a pickle. She had pregnancy as an excuse but Teresa also enjoyed Grandma's pickles.

Happiness is finding out you are going to be grandparents!

Just an update to let you know that Teresa had her wisdom teeth out yesterday and she is recovering nicely. Today she has felt pretty well and has even felt up to doing some quilting. Actually we all three quilted a little today. Teresa only has one block to finish her border design on and Laura has all the rows made on her pinwheel quilt and it is coming along well. Jan made a table runner for a coworker. She just has to put the backing on it and do a little quilting.

Chris had a yellow fever shot yesterday which slowed him down a little yesterday but today he was pretty productive in doing yard work and accomplishing most of his goals.

Laura had some friends from Seattle come through town and they went to dinner and some sort of entertainment, either bowling or a movie. Hope you have a good weekend.

Sonic Sanders get honorable mention at Cannon Beach

The crew . . . . . Jonathan, Tonia, Laura, Teresa, Dawn, Amy and Jeremiah worked hard all morning long making their sea turtle carrying a sand castle on its back for the sand castle competition in Cannon Beach.

The turtle and castle got Honorable Mention (4th place in a field of about 15 groups). The first place group's work was entitled "Public Anenomie #1" and, I have to admit had a lot of artestry to it. It is pictured below with more pictures of the turtle.

Afterwards the crew went back to Ft. Stevens campground to recover from their efforts and the rain and cold. Jan and I joined them later for dinner and a few games. Then we drove home to sleep in our nice warm bed. Lucky us. . . . It was a great time. Lots of memories, but everyone was pretty tired when they got done.
