Rikki helped people sign the signature quilt. We hope to have some of it made up before hand to display at the wedding.

Making Laura's wedding quilt

Grandma cuts out squares that have the number of the block on them. She then waits until the block is sewn by the girls and then staples the correct number on the matching block.

Jan had found the quilt picture on the internet. Then numbered each block.

Then she wrote down the number of the block that corresponded to each of 16 different block types.

So much organization is required.

We layed all the blocks out on my bed so we could see the entire design and if the blocks were correct. Yay they worked!

This shows the overall design. You can see the numbers that Grandma Ruth attached to each block so we know the correct order.

Quilt day for the Caring Pregnancy Center 2010

This year we ended up with approximately 30 blankets to give to the Caring Pregnancy Center. 20 people joined us on Saturday and several made quilts at home and brought them.

Laura's design. Grandma had given her the blocks awhile ago.

Jan designed this quilt as you go design that three ladies made.

Teresa and her blanket she made ahead of time to demonstrate this year's pattern.

Amy and Erin were an example of a mother daughter team.

Julianna was our youngest participant at age 7and she helped make two panel quilts. Her sister Angelina is in the back ground and is about 9 years old. She completed a pieced design like Teresa's.

Dolly brought two of her daughters and a friend, most of whom had never made a blanket before.

Laura and Rikki were a big help with set up and tear down but still managed to make their own quilts while Teresa and I facilitate and answered questions.

Rikki was much more confident this year after a year of gaining quilting experience.

Ms. Waadavig brought 5 blankets she had made at home.

These brothers made two fleece quilts, one tied and one sewn.

Three new quilts

Jan's tree quilt is finally done. I got the inspiration last spring after I finished my heart quilt and wanted my next quilt to be a little more manly. It is an adaptation from one I saw at the Sister's quilt show. I really want to frame some tree pictures that are on the blog from Peru and hang them beside the quilt.
